June 2026

Update: May 15th 2026: So Birnam has returned and we were told that on May 11th our driveways would be prepped and ready to lay cement. Well it’s May 15th and yet again they are behind. We are more than ready to see these guys go and never come back. Most of the crew were removed and are never to work here again and I hope that sticks. Never have I seen such disrespectful crew. Update March 18th 2026 Birnam has returned and is back to blocking peoples driveways and showing up to do pretty much nothing. They come in bad weather and the work that they actually get done gets washed away due to rain or snow. They come for about half the day and then leave as soon as they can. The crappy job they did last fall is starting to show with massive potholes. Which means they have done a crappy job to fix if at all. They were supposed to be done in September of last year so how long is it going to be this year? Update December 9th: Thank you Birnam once again for showing up at 6:30am and making noise. Especially to the guy who parked outside our house and cranked his music on purpose and gave us the middle finger and laughed. Nice to see the professionalism of your company. Just finish your job for once and leave. You are almost 3 months behind. Update November 28th: After several warnings from the police and being put on notice, Birnam continues to start before 7am and start their machines and wake up the whole neighbourhood. They stand outside my house at 6:30-7am talking loud and start the machines with no regard to the residences. They are still not done and we have had enough. Update November 18th, Since the weather has changed and we got a significant amount of snow our street is now a mud pit. We are told it’s a bit sloppy but it’s still accessible. That is an absolute lie. The mud is so deep and gross that it is now impossible to cross the road without being covered in mud. Still no sign of it being finished any time soon and we are now over two months behind the finish date. Update November 7th, we were told months prior that this job would be done by mid September, they are almost 2 months behind the deadline and our street is even worse than it was before. Now that the weather has changed our street is a mud pit that is awful to walk on without getting covered in mud. The workers have now started to rev their engines of their cars in front of my house at 730 in the morning and yelling without any regard for the residents in the area. They are rude and extremely disrespectful while yelling hateful words to others in the neighbourhood that has now been reported. There still seems to be no end in sight and they are running out of time. Absolutely pathetic! Update: Even though the signs say they will be done mid September, it is now that time and they are not even close to being done. Construction workers still chirping off a residents who are just trying to go to work and not to mention an unannounced overnight that no one knew about. We had construction going from 7am to 4am the next morning with no heads up. We are very much looking forward to these guys leaving and we finally get some peace. I still stand by my 1 star review. This company has been on my street since April and have made very little progress and we are being told it’s only going to get worse. There are some serious safety issues as well as being disrespectful to the residents of our street. There have been several occasions where I have felt unsafe as well as having to find a different route to go to work because their so called “accessible” sidewalks are unsafe to walk on or are completely blocked when they shouldn’t be. They throw garbage and cigarette butts all over the site and are rude when speaking to residents and this is only the tip of the iceberg. Seeing the past reviews show how little this company cares about the residents around them. I wouldn’t even give them 1 star if I could.

Update 2026: They're baaaack!! After the hasty work that this company tried to complete before the snowfall last year failed terribly with huge holes in the road and a mess left up and down the street, no one was happy to see this company return. I was told that this would be a better crew as the old crew was "disbanded" with some losing their jobs and some placed on other duties. I had hope...however one week in and the disorganize work has continued....we have had enough..... I too am on the street in London that has been posted and up until recently I truly tried to give them the benefit of the doubt due to the age of the previous infrastructure that they were replacing, but it now has become beyond something that is acceptable. I agree with others who have stated safety concerns, with garbage and tripping hazards everywhere. Work is months off of deadline with no end in sight. I totally agree that they have no regard for the impact that they have on the lives of the people in the area. This is a job site for them, for us it is our home. When they leave early every Friday to go enjoy their weekends, we are still here, walking around your construction debris and driving on the mess you have made of our road . I would be ashamed to have my name of the side of these trucks.
